Congratulations and thank you!
The first Generation €uro Students' Award competition round ended on 18 November. 143 teams from international, European and national schools abroad participated in the competition. The 25 teams who answered 100% of the quiz questions correctly are invited to prepare an assignment in the second round.
In this phase, that started on 28 November, teams are requested to
• propose a monetary policy decision for the Governing Council meeting on 9 March, considering both a decision on interest rates and on non-standard policy measures, and
• explain the decision to a target group not expert in central banking issues, e.g. fellow students or the general public.
This year the emphasis will be on the explanation for non-experts. Guidelines for preparing this task are on the Generation Euro website: https://www.generationeuro.eu/files/ecb_en/GESA%202016-17%20Assignment%20guidelines.pdf
The teams will have time to prepare and submit their assignment until 9 February 2017 and, after that, a jury made of ECB experts will assess their work and invite the best teams to present it.
Congratulations and good luck to all teams who made it to the second round and thank you for participating to all others!
