5 teams compete in the ECB final for European and International schools
The assignment round of the Generation €uro Students' Award 2016-2017 competition has been completed. A jury formed by ECB experts selected five finalist teams with altogether 23 students:
• “Euromen”: Anatolia College, Greece
• “DGM A”: II. gimnazija Maribor, Slovenia
• “IBS Tau”: International Bilingual School of Provence, France
• “Oakonomists”: Oak House British School, Spain
• “Mario's Dragons”: St. Johns International School, Belgium
On 7 March the ECB will organise a presentation round for the finalists’, which will for the first time be done online via Skype. The students will be asked to present the proposed monetary policy decision of their written assignment in a clear and simple way to people who are not familiar with the subject, e.g. students of their age. Presentations should last max. 20 minutes and will be followed by a question and answer session of 20 minutes.
After the online presentations the jury will choose the winning team, which will be invited to participate in the European Award Event on 4 and 5 April 2017 at the ECB, together with 11 other winning teams from those euro area countries that participated in the same competition organised for national schools by the national central banks.
